We offer beautiful, yet surprisingly affordable, weddings in Umbria, ‘The green heart of Italy’.
Our weddings are offered as complete service that includes the ceremony & organisation, the Italian paperwork, the wedding breakfast, an Italian wedding cake, a weeks’ accommodation in our luxury farmhouse villa and the assistance of our wedding planner – all you need to do is relax and look forward to the happy event!
Our unique offer enables you and your closest friends and family to enjoy a weeks’ holiday at our stunning 17th century luxury farmhouse villa. You and your guests can relax before and after the wedding and enjoy 20 acres of private grounds with olive groves, panoramic views of the Apennines and a magnificent swimming pool.
We aim to make your wedding in Italy as enjoyable and hassle free as possible.
We will take care of all the paperwork in Italy that you will need to get married.
Our wedding planner would be happy to help you organise all the additional personal touches that make your wedding special. She can help you arrange flowers, photography, transport, hair, makeup and wedding cakes.
The Ceremony
At Pian Di Cascina, we offer a romantic, Italian-style civil ceremony in the stunning medieval town hall in Gubbio. The historic setting is amazing and the views from the terrace of the town hall are breathtaking.
Gubbio is a medieval walled city, a maze of cobbled streets, stone archways and intricate passageways.
Gubbio is the best preserved medieval town in Umbria and is often promoted as the ‘Umbrian Siena’. The town is surrounded by beautiful countryside and nestled into the Apennine mountainside. It was a city of the ancient Umbrians (founded in the 3rd century BC) and many consider Gubbio was both the political and religious centre of Umbria. In Roman times, Gubbio was known as Iguvium.
(The town hall in Assisi may also be available for your wedding ceremony)
The Wedding Breakfast
We offer you a choice of venues for the wedding breakfast, however, the garden terrace is our favourite, as it is romantic and the food is delicious Umbrian fare. The beautiful garden restaurant is a 2 minute picturesque walk (from the town hall) through the cobbled streets of Gubbio.
You will dine in style on the flower lined terrace which overlooks the ancient roof tops of Gubbio. Your wedding breakfast will be a leisurely Italian feast your guests will fondly remember. The setting is romantic and the food delicious.
You have a choice of typical Italian dishes from a menu specially created for wedding celebrations.
You and your guests will be welcomed with Prosecco (Italian champagne) and canapés. The canapés will by followed by an antipasto course, a primo course (usually a pasta or a risotto), a meat or fish course, your choice of side dishes, a specially made Italian wedding cake, a traditional Italian dessert buffet, and coffee.
The table(s) will be dressed with Italian style and flair accented by quality linen and silver and glassware, seasonal flowers and menu cards.
Local red and white wine, water and waiter service is included.
The Evening Event
After a leisurely wedding breakfast, you may wish to continue your celebrations in Gubbio or return with your guests to continue the evening at the villa. We can provide a delicious Italian alfresco supper, followed by a romantic evening under the stars with fireworks surrounded by all your friends and family –a magical experience you are sure to remember!
Your may spend your first night together in the romantic honey moon suite at the villa. We provide the extra touches that will help make you first night as a couple memorable.

OUR WEDDING PLANNING SERVICE
We offer Civil Weddings at the Historic Comune
(Town Hall) of Gubbio
THE CIVIL CEREMONY
Our wedding planning service includes:
Guidance and advice regarding the documentation needed in order to book the wedding ceremony at the Comune.
Assistance with filing/submission of your UK documentation in Italy (Obtaining the ‘Nulla Osta’).
We provide you with a list of documentation required and instruct you how to obtain this documentation in the UK – we then organise the submission of your UK documents in Italy in preparation for your wedding.
An interpreter to interpret your UK documentation for the Italian authorities.
Booking the Comune for your wedding. (Subject to availability – by law, it is only possible to book the Comune 3 months in advance)
One visit with the wedding couple to the Comune, 3 days before the wedding to verify the paperwork in preparation for the ceremony (Verifying the ‘Nulla Osta’ - You must be in Italy 3 days before your wedding, so that you can present yourselves and your documentation to the Comune. Authorities. Only then will they finalise the legal documents required for the wedding ceremony).
An Anglo-Italian interpreter during the wedding service (required by law if either party is a non –Italian speaker)
Registration of your wedding (after the event) and insuring the wedding certificate is legalised after the marriage ceremony.
Collection of your wedding certificate and postal to you after the wedding.
THE WEDDING BREAKFAST AND THE WEDDING CAKE
Our wedding planning service includes:
Liaison with the wedding caterers.
Advice and liaison regarding the menu, Italian wedding cake (included) and table settings
Organisation of tables, table linen, crockery, glassware, cutlery and seating chart for the wedding breakfast.
The arrangement of seasonal flowers for the tables.

THE WEDDING NIGHT
On the wedding night, the bridal suite will be filled with soft light, the bed will be made up with fresh crisp linens, petals will be scattered on the bed and a few romantic surprises such as a chilled bottle of Prosecco (Italian Champagne) will await the wedding couple...
GENERAL ADVICE
We are happy to provide you with our recommended supplier list and offer advice regarding places to visit, shop and dine out.
We will do our upmost to assist you and your wedding party and to make your stay at Pian Di Cascina truly memorable and special.
In order to assist your guests, each property is equipped with a comprehensive ‘Guest Book’ which offers advice regarding days out, walking and sightseeing in the local area.
OUR RECOMMENDATIONS:
We have carefully selected what we feel are the most beautiful and romantic locations available.
Included in your wedding package is a beautiful ceremony at the historical town hall in Gubbio and a delicious wedding breakfast on the terrace in the romantic garden restaurant.
We understand that a wedding is a very personal event, therefore, we also offer a choice of venues for the wedding ceremony and wedding breakfast.

We can arrange for a celebratory fireworks display at Pian Di Cascina on the evening of your wedding.
Evening Celebrations
We can arrange for a range of celebrations for the evening of your wedding, including champagne & and light bites, a Italian supper or a wine and cheese buffet.
Photography
We can recommend a photographer, coordinate your requirements with the wedding photographer, arrange postal of proofs, liaise with the photographer regarding final photo choices and coordinate final posting of your wedding photographs.
Flowers
We are happy to recommend a local florist for bouquets, buttonholes, corsages and ceremony decorations. If you wish, we can liaise with the florist and coordinate your requirements for flowers and /or arrange for delivery to the wedding venues and Pian Di Cascina.
Hairdresser
We can arrange for a hairdresser for the bride, including a trial session. We can also recommend/help book hairdressers for the wedding party.
Beautician
We can help organise a beautician for the bridal make-up and/or arrange for beauty treatments for bride before and on the wedding day.
Favours
We can organise and deliver, handmade wedding favours of your choosing (Bomboniere).
